Alaska, Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Wasilla: Knik Museum

Knik Museum complex includes Bjorn Cabin. The museum use to be a pool hall and roadhouse, and now houses the Sled Dog Musher’s Hall of Fame, and domestic artifacts from the old town. Open June-Sept. 15, Daily noon to 6 pm. Closed winter.

Alaska, Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Wasilla: Wasilla Historic Town Site

Wasilla Historic Town Site is laid out in the original 1917 townsite behind the Dorothy Page Museum. There is a 1917 one room school house, the 1936 Herning-Teeland-Mead house, the Paddy Marion cabin, Walter Trensch cabin, Shorty Gustafson barn, the Blacksmith shop, a sauna bath house and the Capitol Site building. Open to the public 5 days a week May through September.
