I would like to hire someone, perhaps on guru.com or elance.com, to create a form that is easy for you to fill out to announce your fundraiser home (or garden!) tour. Then I would like your information to easily be posted here on this website, and ALSO be emailed to others who have requested to be notified. :-) And then I would like to have the announcement automatically erased after the tour ends.

Also:

(1) 1-5 Star-rated system for you to rate house museum tours, along with your comment, as an option.

(2) Automatically post all the house-tour headquarters on a google map, with dates and times, include this map with the announcement email and erase them from Google maps when the tour ends.

During a work-vacation in Maine we went to our favorite beach town, Ocean Park, and discovered we had missed a House Tour fundraiser by 1 day! And we were here, only 5 minutes away. I had toured one house on the beach a few years past after talking with the summer residents, and enjoyed the victorian beach-style woodwork, layout, and scenic views…I would have loved to have seen more homes in a house tour.

This is when the idea for HOUSE TOURIST came into being. I am penning this entry within 24 hours of the sheer annoyance of having just missed the house tour, but this Announcement website I am hopeful, in time, will keep us ALL better informed….
